BGW is currently facilitating bi-weekly workshops as part of our ongoing commitment to educate and empower the SOGIESC community in Samoa. These sessions are designed to raise awareness and build understanding of the laws that impact the community.

While many of these laws are not actively enforced, their continued existence creates fear and uncertainty, as they hold the potential to be used against members of the community. Given the historical treatment of the SOGIESC community by state authorities, it is critical that we are equipped to understand and navigate these realities.

We believe that knowledge is power. Through collective learning and community education on individual rights, we aim to reduce the fear that often silences voices and limits people from fully exercising their human rights.

These workshops provide a safe and empowering space for learning, dialogue, and informed advocacy, as we continue to strengthen our efforts toward decriminalization. Our current focus is on engaging and supporting the most marginalized groups within the community. By equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to understand their rights, we are laying a strong foundation for meaningful and lasting change when the time comes.
