Announcement: BGW Alofa Initiative Launch
Brown Girl Woke was honored to share our work at the Alliance Against Domestic & Sexual Violence OVW Fa’afafine Rural Program gathering, held at Tanoa Hotel.
The event brought together advocates, community leaders, and changemakers committed to advancing safety, healing, and justice for fa’afafine and all survivors across Samoa.
Our founder, Maluseu Doris Tulifau was invited as a guest speaker, offering heartfelt gratitude to Program Manager Jaiyah Saelua, whose visionary leadership continues to break barriers with grace and strength, and to long-time mentor Jennifer Tofaeono, whose unwavering commitment has guided generations in this movement.
“This moment was more than a speech; it was a powerful act of solidarity, rooted in allyship and the shared responsibility to uplift and protect our communities. Brown Girl Woke remains deeply committed to this sacred work, and we thank the OVW Fa’afafine Rural Program for creating space for truth, resilience, and collective action.” said Maluseu
